Our Story

Kasey Nothiger started Firefly Fields Northwest with the mission of bringing joy and light to people facing difficult times. Faced with her own struggles after a diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Symptoms, she wishes to prove that even in the darkest of times, to find illumination one bloom at a time. Enter the farm’s partner, Mariah Taunton. A year prior, Mariah caught the bloom bug and dreamt of creating something similar but was at a loss on how to begin. She has her own battles with Type 1 Diabetes which led her to seek out a new doctor. While waiting for the appointment, Mariah overheard Kasey chatting with a co-worker at the clinic she runs discussing her flowers and what needed to be done. Not one to shy away from a conversation about landscaping, Mariah chimed in. Phone numbers were exchanged and a partnership to make Firefly Fields Northwest was created! Two gals proving that they can overcome personal hardships to create something beautiful to share with the community of Central Oregon. We can't wait to meet you!
